McCALL'S M5306 Size 2

I started this little number way back in February. I needed some help deciding whether or not to add the flower and most everyone said "add the flower." So guess what? You got it! I added the flower and tied a little ribbon around it that can be taken off. If the mother wants to, she can put the ribbon in her daughter's hair.. that'd be nice.

It is going out in tomorrow's mail. I'm so excited. It is going to be a total surprise. She doesn't even know she's getting this one just yet!

This is part of that Spring Wardrobe I was talking so much about earlier in the year .

It just feels so great to have yet another piece done. I have 4 pieces left. I plan to have them all done by May 22nd. Why then? Well we are going on a little vacation! Something about family and Eric Clapton... 23 days until we get on that plane! Ok.. I got side tracked....

These are the 4 outfits I've yet to make. The pattern pieces are cut out and one I have cut the fabric... so I've got quite a bit to do, but it will be fun and I'm anxious to see the final product.

You can see the other 2 outfits I finished for the little love here and here . It will be 7 total.

So I know, a bit ambitious.. but she is the only niece I have (plus god-daughter), so I think she deserves a little more, right? Is this a bit too much? I don't know....

Could this be winter's last blow?

The above picture is what my back yard looked like before I went to bed Friday night.



This is what the trucks looked like Saturday morning. Please consider.. we both worked and both of the trucks barely had any snow on them when we got home from work Friday night.
Needless to say, all this but me in a pretty bad mood.. I didn't even keep my date with the girls Friday night because it was so so messy out. The weekend wasn't wasted though, I got some needed house chores done (with dh help :) and got some much needed R&R! watched the kitties some and cooked a pretty good Sunday dinner. I got dh to clean the snow off the porch and grill so I could grill chicken! Yummy! I marinated it with Jamaica Me Sweet Hot `N Crazy, so good, I highly recommend it. I also cooked southern style potato salad and stir fry green beans. Then for dessert we had blueberry dump cake with Cold Stone Sweet Cream ice cream...

And now I'm officially counting down... 26 more days until we leave for Indy! :) Going to see Eric Clapton in concert and get some family time in there too. Hopefully Indy will give me some spring!

A Companion for a companion...

A couple of weekends ago the Pet Zoo in Eagle River was sponsoring an adoption day and my precious dh loves going in to see the kitties. Well, he fell in love with this little Russian Blue and wanted me to go take a look at her. By the time I got there, they had already packed up and had left.

Well, the deal is, I don't care for animals inside the house as much as he does... So I wasn't all that sad to have missed the kitties.

This past weekend was absolutely beautiful outside, just gorgeous and dh proposed we take a drive. It is very, very unusual that he make such a suggestion, 'cause he doesn't care to go for a drive as much as I do.

When we got to Wasilla, he started turning into the Fred Meyer parking lot and I said, "I didn't come all this way to go shopping!" and he said, "I was turning into the Pet Zoo." Sneaky man!!!

and I'm thinking WHAT THE... !!! but I relinquished.. have you seen my dh's sweet blue eyes.. they are hard to resist.

We both didn't know how Purrcules was going to react to her. He's never been with or around other animals since he was first adopted.. and if he sees a cat walk through the back yard he hisses at them and cries.. it is crazy!

But this was love at first sight! How strange.. (but what do I know!) When we brought her home, Purrky came up to the carrier and sniffed her and she sniffed him and then we let her out and the weirdest thing happened ('least I think its weird).. she ran circles around him and he just stood there, like what is this? how did it get here? and why!?! He didn't hiss at her, try to swat her, or try to bite her and would not let her leave his sight. They are getting along splendidly! I am really happy they are too. We are always sad to leave Purrcules home alone and now he has a sweet little companion to keep him company when we are gone to work or out for the weekend.

We have named her Susie Blu and she has already become a member of our family. She is so sweet and cuddley and just loves to be loved. I hope this disposition last!

Being out at the lake isn't to different than being at home.
One major difference, no tv. But who needs a tv, when
you can have fun with your imagination.

Mr. Hairy Woodpecker has a new home under construction.
Hairy needs a pent house for some reason?
He has an existing unit just beneath the new construction..
I guess a lower level unit isn't good enough..
Hairy also must need a lake front condo as well...
'cause he has another unit with a gorgeous lake and mountain view under construction.
Thought! The little guy might have more than one wife.. ut oh!

I watched for The Eagles to take up residence,
but they must be on vacation or getting bids for renovations..
I spotted some wind damaged that had occurred to their home.
I wonder if they are looking for a new home too?!

Suspicious Snowshoe Bunny was having fun spying on me.
Every time I spotted him, he'd take off.
Maybe it was because he knew I was trying to shoot him..lol..
That's hard work.
I did see him flirting with a lady friend later in the day..
what is it with the males around that lake!

I only saw Mr & Mrs Squirrel once.. they knew the guys had serious shooting
in mind if they were spotted again. Poor little loves!



So, now, back at home and all comfy.. ready for spring..
and it decides to dump on us today! Probably about a foot of snow out there!
Yikes! I want spring! My last winter fling was last weekend...
and I want spring this weekend!



I bought this little joyous burst of spring for my office..
It helps with the cabin fever.
I might not go stir crazy just yet!

Summers in Alaska are well worth the wait,
so no complaints here!
