60 days to go!

I can't believe it.. seems so soon and I'm getting a bit anxious.

We've moved into a new house.

Been unpacking and organizing.

The baby's room is most organized in the house! ha!

Working non-stop so hopefully I will have lots of time to use before going back to work.

I plan on a 12 week maternity leave.

I haven't been crafting at all. I want to badly, but the energy just isn't there.

Hopefully, I will get that nesting urge soon :)

Holy Cow!

I can't believe it has been so long since I last posted! I've been so tired... all the time. I come home from work and just about pass out every night! And YEP! that picture is of the little girl (Evelyn Ailene) I am incubating! We did it! It is so wonderful & crazy at the same time. I had the weight loss surgery to achieve this goal and actually did it! I got down to 145lbs and now I'm back up to 155lbs and on Thursday we'll be 20wks preggo :) Half way there! I've not had one minute of morning sickness, thankfully, but I've had my share of tiredness, fainting, dizziness, blurry vision... no worries.. it is being take care of. So now I'm all wrapped up in babyland without a clue of what I need, what to register for, etc... I blindly registered at a local place here today and had to ask for help.. like why might I need a belly band? crazy questions like that.

Also, there are way too many bottle choices.. for now, all I know, the babe is gettin' the boob, that's all the bottle she needs, but I had to put something down. One of my co-workers is calling it the pregnancy brain.

Anywho.. I've missed you all!!!

I'm currently in a size 6! It is quite unbelievable to me at least.
and honestly, I don't care if I don't lose one more pound :)
I feel fantastic!

In other news...
I'm lovin' the island life, so more to come about that...

in like a lion.. hopefully, out like a lamb!

Thankfully I work inside. I don't know how people can work in the fierce winds, and I mean fierce, biting cold and unforgiving.
I'm now wondering where did my Spring go!

I need more sunshine like we had on Saturday!

Spring.. Could it be?

I am a bit freaked out by what seems to be an early spring!
I've never seen so many flowers in bloom in February!
I'm lovin' it :)
These purple flowers are right outside the front of our home.
To see all these flowers in bloom brings such happiness.

These next two photos were taken at Chateau Ste. Michelle while we were on vacation to Seattle this past week.
It was fabulous!

By the time we left, the cherry trees were in full bloom.

It is definitely Spring in the Northwest :)

11 Vine & Leaf Beret

Knitting Nyssa sent me this lovely yarn in a yarn swap through ravelry. She dyed it herself. Something I haven't had the nerve to try yet.

This is the first finished project I've ever knitted from a magazine.
One of my goals for this year is to make something from every magazine I get.

This pattern is #11, Vine and Leaf Beret from Vogue Knitting Fall 2009.
I enjoyed knitting it and obtained the correct gauge, however...
even the small is too big for my head.
And here I thought, I had a big head!
The knitted measurements say circumference is 20" and my head is 21 1/2".
Interesting.
So beware.

Measure your head and if you have a bigger head than mine...
Leave me a note and I'll mail it to ya.
If I get more than one larger head..
I'll pick a random bleader to send it to :)

On to an unfinished project now... more than one sweater.
Sleeves, seaming, accessorizing, blocking, etc...
It is going to be a great year for finished projects!

Year End Review...

Thought I would try out a slide show. So very much happened this 2009, It is hard for me to recap. But here goes...

Jan... was the coldest month with -32F below temps in Anchorage. And although it was cold, I got out in it. Can't let the weather stop ya!
Feb... Found some new friends and fibers!
March... still a lot of snow.. and fun times playing in it!
April.. new job opportunity for my man, and house hunting for us too.
May.. great trip across Alaska and Canada just to get back to Alaska. It was gorgeous weather. I'm an Alaskan, we are obsessed with the weather :)
June... visit with family, lost my sister.
July.. good food! and back to work.
Aug... got to know Ketchikan a bit better.
Sept... marked one year since my life changing surgery and a new me.
Oct... taught knitting classes and enjoyed the beautiful fall.
Nov... spent our first Thanksgiving alone. It was nice.
Dec... tried hiking, more knitting, some traveling and enjoying friends!
