It has been a crazy week. I've sewed some, knitted some, driven on these crazy roads way too much, tried to watch TV (I hate this strike!!) and just hang. I'm so glad MEDIUM was back, but now it's gone for 4 weeks again. Thank God Project Runway isn't leaving me just yet. I think I would lose my sanity! And did you hear... Paige Davis is coming back to TLC's Trading Spaces! I quit watching it after she left. Just wasn't the show it was. I'm so happy now that Paige is back!

The mess above produced the little outfit to the left. I'm still so happy that I was able to make a space for me to create. I don't feel so stuck as I realized I did feel before I had the space. I can safely say.. there will be many more happy products coming from this general area.

Productive day...

This what I have worked on all day and I got 'er done!
This little number is the first dress of quite a few that I am making for a little spring wardrobe surprise. I have never sewed on rick rack before and I had to hand stitch all of it on. I think that was the most time consuming bit about the whole venture.

My little space is totally broke
in now. I even put together a Happiness Is _ kit from Kristina Contes. I love it! I bought it sometime last year and never got to it. Now I've just got to get some pictures in the album. I'm going to use "08 pictures.

And... this is how I spent my day off. I'm happy!

Yay!

Yay! for me. Today I got all the scrappy/sewing/crafting stuff out of my truck.

It felt so good to actually finish a project within the time limit I gave myself.
That in itself is progress for me.
I usually have very good intentions and most times start early, but never quite
seem to make the deadline that I originally set for myself. I'm proud of me.
I was sitting there on my piano stool and thinking.. well, now that I've got all this space..
what to do first?
Sensory Overload!! I just didn't know what to do with myself,
so I just sat there and stared for a little while.
Then I decided to get the last layout I had worked on and finish it and I did.
It was for one of my Mom's installment albums. Yippe!
I will be the hap, hap, happiest person alive when I get all those pictures in albums!

Speaking of happiness.. just look at Purrcules.
Every morning when I roll outa bed and open the door,
he races in and burrows himself under those covers.
Cute, but silly cat!
Really he is doing exactly what I want to do most weekday mornings.
I got to do that today.
DH woke up, went for coffee with MIL and I stayed all warm and toasty
in bed. Well, I did until the phone rang.
I had a wonderful stay in my jammies, don't leave the house, kinda day.
Love those days.

And days like that allow you time to work at leisure on new projects.
I have started a Lucy Bag for me.
Yes, I love red, can't ya tell.. lol!
I'm going to stripe this one with cream & brown.
This is my first felting project and if all goes well, then it will not be my last.
I'm thinking about making bags for Christmas presents. Fun!
That time line with all the other things I want to accomplish might be unrealistic.
We will see.

Scrappy Space...

This is the space I started with. I was puzzled for days .. what to do.. what to do..
Opposite this wall, I have a twin bed. At first I thought I would have to store the bed somehow, but I didn't want to. That bed comes in handy sometime. Well, I decided to move these shelves to some space I found. I really couldn't believe it, but DH & I did it! :)

I've been wanting to get my scrap supplies out of the back of the truck for.ever. I haven't gotten all the supplies from out of the truck yet, but I've made a start. So, now, I can organize and scrap and clean out the back seat of the truck. Maybe I can treat passengers to a ride now... lol!

This is my scrappy space now :) I'm so happy. It's not much, but it will do for a start. Now I need a cork board, some shelves, good lighting and I will be satisfied for a little while longer.

As if..

you wanted anymore reminders that winter has arrived! The sun was so beautiful again today, we just had to take another drive and soak up all the Vitamin D we could.

The sweater is one I just finished before the holiday season. It is a knit from the neck down sweater and I shaped it just to fit me. The ladies over at Far North Yarn Co. were gracious enough to guide me along the process. The yarn is Manos del Uruguay. Nice and warm for a cool +4 above.

DH & I took a drive along the scenic Seward Hwy. There are numerous sights like this along the way. Some people climb these things. I always feel a little anxious when I see them.

Along the tops of the cliffs, above those icy walls,
you can see these dahl sheep. These look like they are just little babies. I have seen some much bigger than these. I think they are so sweet. I'm always amazed at how they can climb those steep icy cliffs and not fall off onto the highway. Don't think I've ever heard of an accident involving falling sheep.






This is what the drive looks like returning to
Anchorage looking out to the left at the Cook Inlet. I think it is pretty. To see the change in this area from summer to winter is spectacular. I will have to remember to post pictures later in the year of this same view in the summer.

Now that I have totally frozen you stiff with all these winter pictures, go get your self some nice hot cocoa! I just did :)

Winter White...

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood... Finally some sunshine! We are gaining minutes of sunlight daily! It barely got above zero today, +5F, but I still enjoyed myself. After fighting traffic all week, 1hr+, I finally get a beautiful day to enjoy.

Getting to work and back again everyday has been just awful, especially with wrecks going and coming everyday, enough to drive you literally mad! It has been snowing all week long. I'm so glad it didn't snow today.

I wanted to get out and take some pictures. I took a few, but I forgot my spare battery. Crazy me!

This moose was munching away and I was so excited to get his picture... I only got three before my battery went dead! And wouldn't you know it, the next picture was my dream shot! He turned around so that I could get a full body shot nice and clear with that gorgeous sunset over the inlet in the background.

This Guy...

has given me 6 very wonderful years with the expectation of many more to come..
laughs at my silly jokes..
laughs even more at his own very silly jokes..
is patient with me when I'm not with Him..
